U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today made the following statement upon final passage of the Senate version of the president’s budget (S. Con. Res. 13): “This budget taxes too much, spends too much, and borrows too much. It is a blueprint for a very different America—one our children and grandchildren will find difficult to afford. Budgets should be about imposing fiscal discipline and setting priorities.”
