ALEXANDER COSPONSORS GREGG AMENDMENT TO ADD FUNDING FOR BORDER SECURITY WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) today signed on as an original cosponsor of an amendment offered by Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) to the Supplemental Appropriations Act that would add $1.9 billion in funding for critical one-time investments in border security. “The first step in comprehensive immigration reform has to be securing our borders and we shouldn’t wait to do it,” Alexander said. “This amendment will fund more border patrol vehicles, aircraft, new stations, and fences where most illegal border crossing occur.” The Gregg amendment includes a budget offset and does not change the overall cost of the supplemental appropriations bill.
