“I want to take this opportunity to express my strong support for his [Corker’s] nomination.”
WASHINGTON, November 28, 2018 – United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today introduced Tennessean Cliff Corker at his confirmation hearing to serve as a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
“It is my pleasure to introduce Cliff Corker to the committee today. His background is well-known to the committee, so I won’t go into extensive detail, but I want to take this opportunity to express my strong support for his nomination,” Alexander said. “Cliff Corker currently serves as a United States Magistrate Judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He was selected by the District Court Judges of the Eastern District of Tennessee – a testament to his qualifications to be a District Court Judge and to his support from the community.”
Alexander concluded, “Cliff Corker will be an asset to the federal bench, in my opinion. Tennessee is fortunate that President Trump chose to nominate him, and I urge the members of the committee to support his nomination so he can be quickly considered by the full Senate.”

After President Trump announced Corker’s nomination on October 11, Alexander said he would serve Tennessee with distinction.
