WASHINGTON, D.C., July 9 – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve the nominations of Waverly Crenshaw as a U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Tennessee and Travis McDonough as a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee:

“Tennessee will be well-served by Waverly Crenshaw and Travis McDonough. They are men of good character and good temperament, and I am glad the Judiciary Committee voted to approve the nominations so that their nominations can now be considered by the full Senate.”

Earlier this month, Alexander, along with Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), neither of whom are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, introduced Crenshaw and McDonough to the committee when it met to consider their nominations. Crenshaw and McDonough now await confirmation by the full Senate.
