Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), member of the Senate Budget Committee, issued the following statement today praising the Committee’s approval of Ambassador Rob Portman’s nomination as director of the Office of Management and Budget: “I’m pleased the Budget Committee strongly endorsed the nomination of Rob Portman to be director of the Office of Management and Budget. I look forward to working with him to restore fiscal discipline to our budget process and to advance the president’s commitment to protecting America’s competitive edge. I hope the Senate moves to confirm quickly this nomination.” Portman’s nomination now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
