WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Bill Frist (R-TN) and Lamar Alexander (R-TN) today applauded the decision by BRAC to add nearly new jobs and the Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington: “Moving nearly 600 jobs to the Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington reflects the understanding of Millington’s vital role in supporting Navy operations,” said Frist. “Personnel at the Millington facility are a key part of ensuring the Navy remains the finest naval fighting force in the world. Their hard work provides essential logistical and operational support to Navy commands and activities. I’m proud of the great work done in Millington and that Tennessee is a leading source of military expertise. I look forward to continuing to work with the Millington community to keep our seas safe and homeland secure.” "I am pleased that both Secretary Rumsfeld and now the BRAC Commission recognize and support the critical mission of the Mid-South Naval Support facility in Millington," said Alexander. "Adding nearly 600 new jobs in Millington will strengthen that facility as well as the surrounding community."
