WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander has been named Chairman of the Subcommittee on African Affairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "It is an honor to serve on the Foreign Relations Committee during this crucial time in our nation's history," Alexander said. "It is also exciting to be chairman of the African Affairs Subcommittee. I look forward to learning more about the continent and building relationships that will mean improved lives for people at home and abroad."
