Alexander on Selection of Rep. Virginia Foxx as Chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee

WASHINGTON, December 2 — Senate education committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on the selection of Representative Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) by her caucus to become the next Chairman of the House Education and Workforce Committee.

“I look forward to working with Representative Foxx, who is a diligent, hard-worker on ensuring that the law fixing No Child Left Behind is implemented the way that Congress wrote it. We will also turn our attention to higher education and helping make it easier and simpler for more students to attend college.”
