Tennessee awarded a $5.7 million federal grant to help fund construction of West Tennessee veterans cemetery
MARYVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 9, 2016 – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today said that Tennessee has been awarded a $5.7 million federal grant to cover construction costs at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads in Parkers Crossroads, Tennessee.
“I was honored to support funding for the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, which will ensure that more than 40,000 veterans and their families receive the honor and respect they deserve for their service and sacrifice.”
Alexander supported funding for State veteran cemeteries when it was included in the Fiscal Year 2016 Omnibus Appropriations bill that was signed into law on December 18, 2015.
