U.S. Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker made the following statements regarding today’s unanimous Senate Judiciary Committee approval of the nomination of S. Thomas Anderson to serve as U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee: “I am pleased that the Judiciary Committee gave its unanimous approval to Tom Anderson’s nomination,” Alexander said. “Judge Anderson is well-respected for his service as a federal magistrate judge, as well as his extensive experience as an attorney prior to being appointed to the bench. I hope the full Senate will move quickly to confirm him before Chief Judge James Todd – who has served with distinction – takes senior status.” “I commend the members of the Judiciary Committee for extending their unanimous support for Tom Anderson’s nomination,” Corker said. “Judge Anderson’s experience in the public and private sectors would make him an excellent addition to the federal bench, and I encourage the Senate to offer him a speedy confirmation.” ###
