MARYVILLE – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement following storms this week in Tennessee that caused damage in at least 15 counties:
"My office has been communicating with FEMA over the past week, and I will continue working with the other members of the Tennessee congressional delegation to support the state's disaster assistance request, so that the owners of homes and businesses that have been damaged or destroyed can begin rebuilding as soon as possible. I continue to hold the families and friends of those who were killed and all of who were injured by these storms in my thoughts and prayers."
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is urging those who need emergency assistance to call 9-1-1 to be connected to the nearest emergency dispatch center. Those who are able to make donations or volunteer goods or services should call 2-1-1 from any county in the state.
