WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement on President Obama’s speech today regarding immigration reform:

“Instead of trying to pass a comprehensive immigration bill like the one in 2007 that fell of its own weight – because Congress doesn’t do comprehensive well – the president should work with Congress on a step-by-step approach that starts with securing the border.”
