Alexander: Senate Confirms Tennessean Paul Ney to Be General Counsel of the Department of Defense

WASHINGTON, July 12, 2018– United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Paul Ney, of Tennessee, to be General Counsel of the Department of Defense:

“Paul is well-qualified for this position – he previously served as acting general counsel for the Navy, deputy general counsel for the Department of Defense during the Bush administration, and he is currently the chief deputy attorney general for the state of Tennessee.  Paul’s character, temperament and years of experience will serve the country well, and I’m glad the Senate confirmed him today."
