WASHINGTON, D.C., June 9, 2016 – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement after the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration voted to approve the nomination of Dr. Carla D. Hayden to be the 14th Librarian of Congress:

“I am glad the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration approved Dr. Hayden’s nomination today so that she can now be considered by the full Senate.
