Alexander Cosponsors Prison Reform Legislation

WASHINGTON, November 27, 2018 – United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today announced he is cosponsoring the First Step Act, prison reform legislation introduced by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck  Grassley (R-Iowa) and endorsed by President Trump:

“The First Step Act will help improve the federal criminal justice system and reform federal prisons. I applaud President Trump and Chairman Grassley for their leadership on this bipartisan legislation, which takes some important first steps to help non-violent offenders re-enter their communities and reduce the likelihood of returning to prison in the future.”
