Alexander Statement on the Passing of Lewis Lavine

MARYVILLE, Tenn., May 3, 2018 — United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement on the passing of Lewis Lavine:

“Thousands of non-profits help more people and spend contributions more effectively because of Lewis Lavine’s leadership at  Nashville’s Center for Non-Profit Management. For eight years in the governor’s office, he set high standards and made good policy, three of those as my chief of staff. He was a dear friend. Honey and I express to Marc and the Lavine family our sympathy and our greatest respect for Lewis’s life.”

Lewis Lavine served as chief of staff to then Governor Alexander during his second term.
