WASHINGTON – President Obama yesterday renominated Kevin Sharp to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. On November 17th, U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after Kevin Sharp’s initial nomination to the U.S. District Court:

“I congratulate Kevin Sharp on his nomination by the president and look forward to meeting with him about the judicial confirmation process.”

Nominations pending at the end of a Congress are returned to the President, and they must be resubmitted for the Senate to reconsider them.  Pursuant to the Senate Rules, Mr. Sharp’s nomination was returned to the White House on December 22nd when the Senate adjourned for the year.
