WASHINGTON, February 13, 2018 – United States Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Brent Park, of Tennessee, to serve as Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation at the Department of Energy:

“Dr. Park currently serves as an Associate Laboratory Director at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he manages national security programs for the United States Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration, and was previously a director of research programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His professional experience make him uniquely qualified for this position, and I look forward to his confirmation by the United States Senate.”
