ALEXANDER COMMENTS ON SECOND QUARTER GDP

Posted on July 28, 2006

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) made the following statement today after the Commerce Department announced that the U.S. economy continued to grow in the second quarter: “The second quarter report shows that real GDP is up again for the 19th quarter in a row. I’m pleased that our economy keeps going strong. In order to keep that positive trend going, we need to continue the pro-growth tax policies that have put more money in the pockets of Tennessee families. We also must work to maintain America’s competitive edge so that our good jobs continue to stay here at home instead of moving overseas.” ###
