Sen. Alexander Statement on DHS Issuing Final Regulations on Real I.D.

“I’m glad that the Department of Homeland Security has finally issued its final regulations to give states the guidance they need to begin implementing REAL ID, three years after the Act became law. I look forward to reviewing these regulations in detail, but I’m encouraged that they appear to have reduced the cost imposed on states. However, the federal government has still not picked up the tab for REAL ID, and I will continue to push for more federal funding instead of imposing an unfunded mandate which sends the bill to the states
