WASHINGTON, D.C., August 2, 2017 – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today greeted veterans traveling with HonorAir Knoxville during their one-day trip to Washington, D.C.

The group of 136 Vietnam War veterans visited the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Air Force and Marine Memorials, and witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider at Arlington National Cemetery.

HonorAir Knoxville’s visit was made possible through donations by individuals and organizations in East Tennessee. The group has been organizing flights to Washington, D.C., since 2008.
