WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, made this statement today following National Park Service Director Fran Mainella’s announcement that she will be leaving her position to devote more time to her family: “Fran Mainella has been a dedicated steward of America's National Park System. She deserves real credit for her common sense leadership in the updating of National Park Service Management Policies that recognize the primacy of conservation.”
