Alexander Votes to Limit Government Spending

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement regarding the Sessions amendment to the FAA Reauthorization bill:

“This proposal would have limited discretionary spending, which is approximately 40 percent of the federal budget, for the next three years to about 2 percent growth and would have been a good start on reducing our nation’s alarming federal debt. Congress must stop spending money we don’t have, or else the next generation will never forgive us for leaving them in such a dire financial condition.”
