WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement about his vote for postal reform legislation introduced by Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.):
“I voted for this bill because it is a first step toward helping the Postal Service make the necessary changes to survive in the age of the Internet. I’m disappointed the bill didn’t go even further in meaningfully restructuring the Postal Service and shoring up its finances.”
The Postal Reform Bill passed 62-37.
