U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement following the announcement that Nissan and the State of Tennessee are forming a partnership to promote zero-emission vehicles, including electric vehicles, in Middle Tennessee with participation from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and other partners: “This announcement is great news for Tennessee,” Alexander said. “The partnership between Nissan, TVA and Tennessee will help bring electric cars to our state so that we can charge our cars overnight for a few dollars instead of spending $80 to fill them up with gasoline. I commend Governor Bredesen for his hard work and foresight in putting Tennessee in the forefront of clean transportation technology.”
