WASHINGTON– U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on his vote for a short-term extension of the Export-Import bank charter
through September 2014:

“In just the last five years, at no direct cost to taxpayers, the Export-Import
Bank has supported nearly $500 million in Tennessee exports for 70 companies in
our state, such as Classic American Hardwoods in Memphis and JDC Coatings in
Mount Juliet, and extending the bank’s charter will ensure that more ‘Made in
Tennessee’ and U.S. products will find buyers around the world, and will create
jobs in Tennessee.”
