Alexander Votes to Strengthen Sanctions Against Iran

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2194, the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act:

“Iran’s development of nuclear weapons may be the most dangerous threat to our national security today.  I hope that these new sanctions will help deter them from continuing to defy the international community and building nuclear weapons.”

The measure passed the Senate by a vote of 99-0.
