WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement on his vote against moving forward with Senate Majority Leader Reid’s version of the president’s so-called jobs bill:

“A few steps Congress should take right now to help the millions of Americans suffering in this economy to find good private-sector jobs would be to pass trade agreements allowing American businesses to sell more overseas, reform our tax and regulatory systems to free up American businesses to hire, and start on entitlement reform to lower our job-killing debt.”
