My Eyewitness News: U.S. Senator Alexander Wants to Hear Your Flood Questions

Posted on July 19, 2010

MEMPHIS, TN -- If you were affected by the May floods, you most likely have opinions about how it was handled.  Or, even suggestions you think would have helped.

If that's the case, you should facebook or email your questions and concerns to U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander.

He'll be part of a senate hearing next Thursday, July 22, 2010, focusing on the government's response to the flood emergency and he wants to hear from you.

Alexander wants your questions and comments so he can bring them up during the hearing.  He promises to give you a voice during it.

Alexander says he wants to find out what lessons can be learned from the floods.

He says we're alerted about tornadoes, so why can't we find some way to get reliable information on potential floods.

Tennesseans now know how much damage flooding can cause especially those who didn't have flood insurance.

Senator Alexander wants an organized government response, in case anything like this ever happens again.

Alexander says the hearing will be streamed live on-line starting at 9:30 Thursday morning.
