Internships

Internships are available in our state offices and in our Washington, D.C. office. When submitting your application, please note in your email whether you’re applying for our D.C. office or applying for a state office (please specify which state office).

Internships are unpaid; college credit may be awarded from your degree-granting institution. Preference is given to college Juniors and Seniors from Tennessee with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. Resumes and applications may be emailed to the attention of Misty Marshall at internship@alexander.senate.gov. If you have any questions, please call (202) 224-4944.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering as an unpaid intern with our office. We encourage interested applicants to submit their materials as soon as possible, as interns may be accepted on a rolling basis. Applications can be downloaded below.

Page Program

The Senate Page Program is an excellent opportunity for Tennessee students to receive firsthand experience with the Legislative branch of our government. It is a challenging, yet rewarding opportunity for mature,hard-working students. Pages will work until the Senate adjourns daily, so candidates need to be self-motivated with excellent academic records.

Senate Pages must be U.S. citizens and appointed by a Senator.  Page eligibility is limited to juniors in high school who will be 16 or 17 year old on or before the date of appointment. Due to the limited number of positions and the volume of interested students, appointments are particularly competitive to the Page Program. I encourage interested applicants to apply as early as possible.

Information & Requirements for applying to the Senate Page School are attached here                   Page Program Info

Deadlines for applying to the Senate Page Programs are the same each year.

                        Summer Session – April 1
