Alexander on House NLRB Vote: Senate Should Act to Overturn Administration’s Policy of Exporting Jobs

Posted on September 15, 2011

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on House passage of the Protecting Jobs from Governmental Interference Act, a bill that, according to its sponsor, Congressman Tim Scott (R-S.C.), would prevent the National Labor Relations Board from dictating the location of American jobs:

“The House today voted on whether American companies should be encouraged to make in the United States what they sell in the United States or whether the Administration's policy of encouraging American companies to export jobs should be continued. I hope the Senate Majority Leader will follow the House’s lead and bring this bill to the Senate floor for a vote.”

Last week, Alexander joined Senator Graham (R-S.C.) and seven other senators in introducing a companion bill to the Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, S. 1523.
